The Mary Townley Loop

Photo of The Mary Townley Loop

A pocket guide to the 48 mile loop of the Pennine Bridleway for horseriders, cyclists and walkers, which lies between Rochdale to the south and Burnley to the north. Some extraordinarily wild, beautiful and remote country lies within, although industrial civilisation is always close by. This comprehensive guide is a must for anyone wishing to explore the route, with lots of local information, colour photos and maps.

The route was pioneered by passionate horsewoman Mary Townley, and was opened after years of negotiation, in 2002. Probably best suited to mountain bikes.

Paperback, spiral bound.
